Charis Prep provides a holistic learning environment, an education of high academic standards, and social and economic diversity.
Unfortunately, most private schools serve the upper socio-economic echelon of society. As a result those who often need the benefits of a private school education the most are excluded. Charis Prep has as one of its primary objectives to be demographically diverse – in its faculty/staff and its student body. In order for this goal to be a reality and not simply an abstract concept, we have purposed to make Charis Prep affordable and welcoming to all.
Academically, our goal is to prepare our students to succeed in college. It is tragic that private schools as a whole market themselves as college preparatory institutions, but in reality students are not intellectually challenged as much as in public schools and are, in fact, “babied” (coddled) in order to receive better grades.
